The Five-Minute Film Festival |

|
Saturday July 21, 2001. Psychocats and the Cacophony Society decided that it was time to leave mockery behind and dare to improve our cultural milieu, so we organized a film festival. Contestants offered their artistry in several categories, including musical, documentary, and doggie with dildo. Trophies were awarded to whoever got the most audience applause. All in all, a highly civilized affair, with bands, beer and popcorn too. Many thanks to all of you who attended, participated in,and supported this event, and thanks to all who sat through all the glitches. Here are the proud winners of the fabulous Golden Statues for Cinematic Excellence:
Thanks to Tracy & The Hindenburg Ground Crew, Nora Keyes, and Rich Polysorbate 60 for their musical numbers. No thanks to Dennis Woodruff for flaking on the event. Al Guerrero has received countless thanks & positive comments about the show and believes that whether you liked some or all or none of the films, we have now stirred up a bee's nest of inspiration for any one who's ever wanted to make a movie, and people are now getting up and getting creative with showcases such as this one, and that's what it's all about. Let's continue to support our local arts/artists. Lastly, A very special thanks to Monsiour Pierre LeFuque, the French film critic who graced us with his insightful comments after each film. See you all at the next Five-Minute Film Festival.
